Here's a suggestion to help you! Any time you go on an antibiotic prescription--you have just about put down your immune system. Those drugs are not discriminating and pretty much destroy your body's basic defenses, along with the current invader making you ill. Do yourself a favor and put your kids/yourself on acidophilus for twice as many days as you were on the antibiotic. And if your kid has chronic "otitis media" otherwise known as ear infections, keep them on acidophilus all winter long! You will be pleasantly shocked at the results you'll get.

Lots of choices out there now with the new yogurt products--Activia, Dannon, Yoplait all have immune boosting products and contain organisms meant to boost your immune system. If you just can't stand the taste of yogurt, go to your health food store and buy it in chewable tablets or capsules--and keep it in the frig or the helpful organisms die! By all means do not let your dr. put anyone in your family on 3 consecutive rounds of antibiotics without doing this in-between. I've read about people dying because there was nothing left that could help them because they used too much of a good thing!

Oh, we've had our share of it too - I get to kid with my wife that she was able to spend all of Mother's Day in bed... of course she was in the fetal position with a bucket by her pillow.

None the less, I tell everyone she got her dream Mother's Day gift!

Wow, that's a lot going on. And I think you're right, illnesses increase in proportion to the number of kids in the house. I'm actually impressed that you and your wife are still healthy!

We're in the same boat this spring as well. Just when you think you shouldn't have to worry about this stuff because it warming up outside, whamm-o.

Our 3 kids have been trading ear infections, pneumonia and a nasty cough for the last 4 weeks. Now our eldest seems to have picked up a stomach bug last night... Nothing like changing sheets and running a load of wash at 3 in the morning.

We're one behind you in numbers but it still makes for many sleepless nights.
