I too have been having home haircuts for about three years now. It seems too much trouble on top of everything else to make and keep a haircut appointment. The link to cutting your own hair inspired something I've been thinking about for some time now--- Is there some easy way to keep track of all those ways we save money and keeping a running tally? Something easier than a spreadsheet? Does anyone do this? We are in the midst of trying to save for one of our goals, and since I'm more motivated to save than my wife I'm always looking for incentives to help her realize the benefits of our efforts. I want it before I head to Atlanta for a coaching clinic and the marathon, but I don't really want to have to cut my hair again before my May 4 marathon. My guess is that even if I wait until the day before I fly out for GA, my hair will be longer than I like to race in but not long enough to warrant cutting before the next marathon. Which is actually the length my wife prefers that I have... I’m holding off on getting a flat top until probably next week.
