I also find that the doors leading into restaurants have this same magical power! What's even crazier.... it somehow takes my youngest son and transforms him from and outgoing, loud, never scared of anything in the world little boy into this quiet, whispering, sometimes even shy little boy. My kids aren't old enough for school, but I do keep telling myself that the fact my kids behave better when I'm not around is a sign that they're developing in a healthy manner.
