I have mixed feelings about snow. . . I think it builds character, but by the end of January, I have built all the character I need to get through the "soft" summer months.

I awakened to a huge ice dam that fell off my porch roof last night. Fortunately it did not cause too much damage, but moving about 200 lb. of ice while wearing dress clothes was not the greatest experience in the world. . .

We've gotten about 2 feet of snow so far this year. On Sunday, I spent about 3 hours listening to the football game from a small radio in my jacket pocket while I shoveled the snow into the road so that the plows could distribute it over my lawn for me. Then I had another hour yesterday morning before the sun came up so that my wife could get to her law school exam on time.

I love snow too, but it can be a lot of work sometimes. On a positive note, running the trails in the snow is a lot of fun (if also a lot more work...)
