Peace and Quiet – At Long Last!

Written by mom - Leave a Comment

“Can I please have a moment’s peace?!”

What mom hasn’t uttered this plea at one time or another? With three sons in elementary school and a two year old who still naps, I have finally found that elusive “moment’s peace.” There are times when our house is silent! I’m sure you’re familiar with the expression “The silence is deafening,” and that’s how it felt to me the first few times. It was unsettling, unnerving, unfamiliar. But now it’s downright SPECTACULAR!

It’s finally time to whisk my youngest off to his nap. For those of you yet to experience this sort of luxurious silence, it’s definitely worth the wait. Take heart! And remember that it’s easy to take things for granted if they’re always at your fingertips. Bide your time and someday you’ll find yourself asking, “What was that?” And answering, “Nothing but the sound of total silence.”

Welcome back, sweet friend, I missed you.
