Publix to Offer Antibiotics for Free

Written by dad - Leave a Comment

According to an article in USA Today, Publix (a grocery chain in the southeast) will begin offering seven “popular” antibiotics for free to anyone with a prescription, even if their insurance would otherwise pay for it. The drugs included in this program include: amoxicillin, cephalexin, sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim, ciprofloxacin, penicillin VK, ampicillin and erythromycin. Apparently Meijer stores in the midwest have done something similar since October of 2006.

So… If you’re in need of one of these antiobiotics and you’re in the right part of the country, you should definitely check this out. This would’ve definitely saved us some money in the past if it had been available.
