Strep Throat – The Saga Continues

Written by dad - 2 Comments

Ugh. After having Son #1 and Son #3 diagnosed with strep last week, we picked up their antibiotics (Amoxicillin) and hoped for the best. Unfortunately, Son #1 hasn’t really responded to the antibiotics, so yesterday they switched his prescription. He’s now on Omnicef for the next ten days. Hopefully this will knock it out.

  1. I got strep throat in college, was sick for over a month, and lost about 15% of my body mass. It took me around 4 months to get near my former weight again, and about 8 months to reach my former weight. Hopefully you can knock it out with the new meds.

  2. I’m not sure how old your children are, but if they are school-age they may be picking the strep up from the school drinking fountains. Last year when it was going around our schools here my childrens’ doctor told us that is one big ways the chidren pass it around.
