Happy Birthday to Me!

Written by mom - 5 Comments

I turned 38 today and…

I Love My Body!

I love my soft stomach…
…it reminds me of carrying my four boys within.
I love my sagging breasts…
…they remind me of cozy, late nights spent nursing my infant sons.
I love my laugh lines…
…they remind me of all the funny things my sons have said and done.
I love my frown creases…
…they remind me of disciplining my boys to make them great men.
I love my gray hairs…
…they remind me of all the challenges we have endured and overcome as a family.

Why would I want to change any of these attributes?
They are part of the woman I have become.
I embrace myself.
I rejoice in the wisdom gained…
…and reflected in my beautiful body.

  4. Tanyetta- I sure hope it gets better! I am still in the midst of it (son #4 is 2 yrs. too). My only advice… preschool is a godsend! Next year sons #1-3 will be at elementary school all day and son #4 will go to preschool 3 days/week. I might be able to breathe again! My favorite part of the day is when the bus pulls up, in the morning to say goodbye and in the afternoon to welcome my dirty dogs home (I actually miss them). Good luck!

  5. I turn 38 in June and couldn’t agree with you more. I’m a single parent of 2 boys and should my sweetheart and I be daring enough to combine forces…will include 2 more boys to our happy, tostesterone filled family. A lot of people get preoccupied with reaching the 40 mark – but I see it as you do…a wonderful experience. I look forward to many more years with my boys! Happy Birthday! I think you look absolutely wonderful!
