Swimsuit Shopping a Pleasure? You bet!

Written by mom - Leave a Comment

I went bathing suit shopping the other day. This time there was no dressing room, no rambunctious boys, no three-way mirrors. I simply went to Land’s End and started shopping in the privacy of my own home. I’ve bought enough bathing suits in the past to know what I like and what I don’t like, so I was able to narrow the selection way down. I ordered three different tops and a couple of swim minis. They arrived a few days later. I tried them on… Minor success… One top and one swim-mini fit well and looked decent.

I called their 800 number to find out how to choose a better fit and return the items I didn’t like. Good news! I could make returns at our local Sears AND they would send my new choices without shipping charges. I was also able to talk to a “bathing suit fitting expert”. She explained to me that since I am well-endowed on top, this would greatly limit my choices. She suggested one style that came in a larger cup size. Sounded good to me. I returned the rejects to Sears and received my next shipment a few days after the phone call… Some more success… I now had another swim-mini, but the tops she had suggested were not a good look for me.

I surmised that the first top I liked fit me because it had an around the neck, knotted strap that I could tie closer to the ends to compensate for my cup size. It was my only option. Another trip to Sears and a final order later I now have this particular top in three colors and my swim-mini in two colors. The five pieces are completely interchangeable. This will make each individual item last a lot longer. I really like the tops because they show a decent amount of cleavage and de-emphasize back and armpit fat. The swim minis are great for concealing thigh cellulite.

Overall, I REALLY enjoyed my shopping experience at Land’s End (I’m not being compensated by them at all). I’ve heard that their customer service is magnificent and now I have proof. I recommend it to everyone. Swimsuit shopping with a personal shopper and no cramped dressing room? What’s not to love?
