Awww that's too bad that they didn't come. We put so much into the parties and events like this as parents but all the kids really need are friends and our undivided attention and play time. Great job mom and dad!

Hugs,
Holly

Poor guy, I am glad he still had a good time though!

One day our kids will realize all of the hard work we put into these things... but probably not until they are parents themselves :D Here from the CFL.:O)

CoFL Visitor

That's such a shame, we just had a first birthday party and I felt a lot of pressure (admittedly put on me by myself) to get things just right.

I'm visiting from the Carnival of Family Life!

One thing I'm trying to learn as a parent - and as a person, for that matter - is that when things don't go as I had planned, the other people involved usually don't know what expectations I had for myself and everything is good! Your experience is a good example of that!

Happy Birthday to Son #3!

Great idea on saving the Transformers. The trouble is, with four boy running around the house, we don't have space to save everyone we (and they) want.

Great post. I started reading with trepidation . . .I thought it was going to be sad.

BTW, my nephew is 23 and has all of his transformers. In fact, he is STILL asking for them as gifts. When he was a little kid, we would laugh because none of us could figure them out and he would just grab them and zip zap have a new creature! It was amazing. He's very mechanical. So make sure you hold on to all of them because they are collectors' items!

Thanks for including your post in the Carnival of Family Life! We got a lot of GREAT submissions, so come on over later today and read the others!
