I decided to designate my garage sale profits to purchasing one. I have $450 set aside. I'm in no hurry, though, and, like you, am unwilling to pay a premium for one. Nintendo seems pretty committed to meeting demand, so I have high hopes that we'll all be able to get one. My top choice is to buy one from Amazon, too. I have several hundred dollars in credit there, so buying via Amazon would be like using free money. I missed out on the pre-order, but I <i>have</i> signed up to be notified when pre-orders reopen. (Also note that the release date is actually a Sunday, so any Amazon pre-orders will arrive the following day.) I haven't kept up with Nintendo since then. If I do decide to get a Wii at some point it'll be at least a year or two down the road. I don't see it as likely though.
