Cool Summer Activities

Written by mom - Leave a Comment

While the nation is experiencing a summer heat wave, I’ve been trying to come up with “cool kid activities to keep us cool.” So far, we’ve made it to the pool almost everyday. We also been to our new (new to us, anyway) county library. We recently happened upon preschool story time to the delight of my “littles,” but much to the chagrin of my “bigs.” Fortunately, the “bigs” were able to use the buddy system to look at the juvenile books instead.

We’ve tried the mall, but what was a mecca for me before I had a large entourage has now turned into a very stressful place. I’ve even considered the movie theater during a delusional moment when I somehow forgot that my one and four year olds can’t sit still for longer than five minutes. I would LOVE to take my “bigs” to Cars or Pirates, but that’s just not going to happen. I guess we’ll wait until they come out on DVD and have a family movie night.

Any other ideas for cool kid activities? And by cool, I mean both attention-grabbing and air-conditioned.
