Bird Nest Update

Written by dad - Leave a Comment

Well, it looks like the robin’s nest in our holly bush has been abandoned, and the egg is a dud. No progress since this past weekend. However, the nest in the nearby maple seems to be active, and it’s now home to at least one egg. There should be a few more days of egg laying before momma bird starts incubating her young. Hopefully this’ll progress fast enough for us to see some hatchlings before we move at the end of the month. Regardless, it’s been fun to see a little bit of nature return to our subdivision (the street that we live on was completed about three and a half years ago and pretty much all of the trees are just young saplings). Of course, after the move we’ll have more than enough nature to keep us all happy (yes, even our eight year old) as we’ll be living on a wooded lot.
