We Bought (and Sold) a House
Awhile back I mentioned that we’re moving, and that we were headed out of town to look for a house — preferably one with a forest in the backyard. Well, I’m pleased to report that the trip went far better than we expected — even though we were cooped up in a hotel room with four boys, we ended up buying a new house and selling our current house in just under six days.
Not only is the new house everything we had hoped for (including the forest!), but we also managed to stay out of town for almost the entire time that our current house was on the market… The upshot was that nearly all of the showings happened while we were away. This turned out to be a godsend for my lovely and talented wife, who would’ve otherwise borne the brunt of keeping our house showable in the face of the whirlwind that is our four boys (talk about shoveling the walk before it stops snowing). Now the fun begins…
Our six and eight year olds are in school through May 25th, and we have to be out of our house on or before June 2nd. Thankfully, we’ve managed to coordinate it such that we can move directly from house to house. Assuming that everything goes as planned, this should translate into a (relatively) painless transition.

Good luck.

I sold one house, leased one and bought and moved into one last Oct & I’m still recovering. I only had one kiddo, but he is seriously autistic & delayed and one 4 lb chihauhau…….but I was a wreck.
