Taking a Header out Back

Written by dad - Leave a Comment

After a long stretch without bumps and bruises, our one year old (actually 16 months) took a dive on the back patio yesterday afternoon and wound up with a pretty nasty looking boo-boo in the middle of his forehead. The only really surprising thing about this (aside from the fact that it hasn’t happened in awhile) is that he’s not due to have his picture taken anytime soon… In general, our kids always manage to do a number on themselves just before they’re scheduled for a portrait or some other major milestone. Hopefully this one will heal up fast, but I’m not holding out too much hope… Our kids have always had a knack for re-injuring themselves whenever something like this happens. I’m not sure why, but I suspect it has something to with the bump on their heads sticking out far enough to ‘catch’ them whenever they fall.
