Six Year Old Birthday Party

Written by dad - Leave a Comment

Once again, it’s birthday time around here… We’ve written in the past about some of our birthday party ideas, and I thought that it might be worthwhile to do so again… Our five year old is turning six, and we’re having his birthday party at the local bowling alley.

We actually did the bowling birthday thing last year, and it worked out great. In short, we rented a pair of lanes, ordered pizza for the kids from the snack bar, and had a grand old time. The theme of the party was Star Wars, and we pulled it off by doing little more than using Star Wars plates and napkins and referring to the bowling as “Star Wars Bowling,” with the pins doubling as Storm Troopers. We brought our own cupcakes (no cutting/serving!) and drink boxes and, best of all, we didn’t have to clean up the house at the end of the party.

This year’s plan is much the same. The main difference will be the theme. While our son flirted with the idea of a Pokemon party, he ultimately settled on Power Rangers. We already have the requisite party supplies (Power Ranger plates, napkins and treat bags), so there’s little more to do in terms of party preparations. As our four year old would say, “easy peasy lemon squeezy.”
