Rainy Days, TV and GameBoys

Written by mom - 2 Comments

The other day was cold and rainy, and the boys were out of school for a teacher in-service day. Inevitably, they got on each other’s (and my) nerves and watched far too much television. Fortunately, kids today have an amazing array of TV shows to pick from. As long as we monitor what they watch, our boys can usually find something appropriate that holds their interest. Here’s a list of their favorite channels and shows…

ABC: America’s Funniest Home Videos

Animal Planet: The Crocodile Hunter Diaries, The Jeff Corwin Experience, and The Most Extreme

CBS: Survivor (a family event)

Disney: Kim Possible, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, and Brandy and Mr. Whiskers

Nick Jr.: Dora the Explorer, Avatar the Last Airbender, Danny Phantom, Drake and Josh, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, The Fairly Odd Parents, and Zoey 101

PBS: Arthur, Cyberchase, Zaboomafoo, Zoom, and George Shrinks

You may not agree, but as far as I’m concerned it’s just fine to have an occasional “sit on the couch, play your Nintendo GameBoy, and watch TV” kind of morning that morphs into a lazy afternoon followed by an unhurried evening. Especially if it means peace and harmony among the ranks. I hope those GameBoy batteries hold out!

  2. Yeah, they’re pretty popular at our house all the way down to the four year old, but those two show in particular definitely resonate more with the ‘older’ crowd (our eight year old).
